tats are a perfect example of this fact. I have 5 tats and i am NOT the BAD boy that ppl automatically think i am. Im sick of being judged all the time man. are you?????

Yes, this sucks, no question about it. However...





Things are changing, albeit very, very slowly. Sometimes it seems like in order for change to occur, the current crop of people needs to die off.





I do know that the really minimal piercings I have - two left ear, one right ear - for a guy nowadays isn't that big of a deal. However, when I first got them in the mid-late 80s, I got similar reactions. Amazing what a little time will do.





I think age also plays into this, both from excepting and engaging in. People younger than me have never (to my face) been anything other than normal to respectful of my ink %26amp; such, but then I hit my 40s a little over a year ago. No one older - at least for a while - has been negative. Sometimes I wonder if it's because they've all died, or perhaps it's just too much energy to get out of their rocking chair.
Reply:That sucks. People judge way too much by a person's appearance. It's ridiculous with how common tattoos are becoming. I have a few tatts, but nothing real big or visible.

i have 11 and piercings an i wish people would just get to know me before assuming that i am trash. Its hard to get service in a restaurant sometimes and thats with being dressed nice. If it makes you feel any better i wouldn't lock the doors if you walked by !
Reply:its sad that people judge liek that! ive got 20 bodymods all tattoos and piercings, i get looked at funny too. but just walk by and prove your better than those shallow minded people.and the end of they day they dont know you so you shouldnt care what these people thing, plus most people do have a tattoo or a piercings these days so its the ones who dont that are becoming out number. but it does piss me off cos we dont judge them so they shouldnt judge us!

Reply:I know exactly what you mean. My husbands tats are a little out there (his face is tattooed, neck, arms are sleeved, and his back is completely done, and he has some scattered on his chest and legs). Sometimes people are really interested in his tats... they say how awesome they are. But most people look at him with a look of disgust. We have 3 kids, he's a great father, husband, and provider. I wish people would stop judging him because of the way he looks. Unfortunately.... we can't change the world.
Reply:My boyfriend has 13, and I definitely do not lock my doors when he walks by lol. Some people just don't think of tattoo's as being artistic, and a creative way to express yourself. I currently only have 1 tattoo, but I'm getting another one very soon. I also have my nose pierced and my belly-button, and because of this my own family even treats me differently. Don't worry, I feel you're pain.
