If beauty really is only skin deep, then do ugly people have it going for them?

just read a question, posed one of my own, that above,so i want to know, do ugly people have it going on for them, i have often heard people say, "she must be ugly" but never really thought anything of it, but have always wondered this, is it true, all "ugly married/coupled/dating at the mo, or recent, must answer this one, please.

People who aren't as attractive can face many problems. Tyra Banks aired a show the other day where she took beautiful twin women and had one of them 'remade' into a plain version (basically a girl with a larger nose, plain clothes and a pimply face). First she sent them on job interviews..the 'prettier' girl (who had less expierience) got every job she was offered while the 'plain, ugly' one (who had a load of expierience) was told "We'll call you in the future." Since most people judge first on appearances..I wouldn't say ugly people have it going for them..in fact a lot are discriminated because they don't fit that cookie cutter mold that the world expects, even if they are the nicest people you will ever know.

Yes, ugly people have it going for them. Beautiful people get a lot of breaks that average/below average don't get. (Studies have shown that you are more likely to get a job or promotion if you are "good looking".) Because of this, average/below average folk have to cultivate other areas of their personality, education, sense of humor, etc. This makes them much more interesting to be with. As far as getting any action, ugly people have the same body parts, hormones, sex drive as anyone else. They have just as much fun as the beautiful people. In fact, I think they might have better intimate relationships because they know that their partner is into them and not thier looks.
Reply:Perhaps you should have rephrased your question as to 'non-beautiful people' rather than 'ugly'. Anyway, this is subjective - one person's beauty is not necessarily another's...........I don't think married people would consider their partners ugly or they wouldn't be married because that's not how you think if you are in love!





Beautiful people (if they perceive themselves to be beautiful, which is not a particularly attractive trait) may find it harder as they age. Their looks will decline and if their appearance is of such priority then they will feel the pressure.
