Yes it is, unfortunately most people misinterpret the saying.


It means that physical beauty is only on the surface but a person that is an ugly, unpleasant miserable human being is that way all the way through.

A lot of ugly people have a hard time excepting the fact that they are ugly because inside they see themselves as beautiful whereas attractive people often feel like they don't live up to that "perfect" image of beauty that the media throws in our face every day. No matter how good looking they are they will always find some flaw with their body.

Beauty is only skin deep because it sells and some people are really mean because the know they are pretty.


However, there are very pretty people who are nice and mean people who are ugly I;m not saying you are but, please do not stereotype "pretty people" or "ugly people."

My smile isnt pretty but it still can brighten up someone's day...i've met some very very pretty people but they were so mean and snobby...i'd never call them beautiful because they're only beautiful on the outside
