Can ink from a tat bleed into surrounding skin if the artist goes too deep?

Got a new tat a month ago. 2 weeks ago the surrounding area took on a dark bluish/green tint (it isn’t a bruise). The tint goes our about 3 inches, in any direction, from the tattoo. (It isn’t a blowout.) It itches cuz the artist went real deep, over-worked the skin %26amp; as a result there’s heavy scarring. Could the ink from the tat be bleeding into the surrounding skin? The artist %26amp; owner of the shop say that isn’t possible. But artists from 2 other shops believe that is exactly what has happened. Has anyone heard of anything like this before?

Can ink from a tat bleed into surrounding skin if the artist goes too deep?
This actually sounds odd to me, especially the fact that the bluish/green is going out around the tattoo about 3". It does sound like it could be a severe (not used loosely) case of tattoo blow-out.... This is the definition of blowout as listed on BME:

"Tattoo Blow-out

From BME Encyclopedia

If a tattoo artist goes too deep when tattooing, the ink can spread by capillary action, causing a blurry halo around the main lines. Some body parts; such as the shaft of the penis; are especially vulnerable to tattoo blow-out. "

Considering the shop that you had it done at doesn't want to take any responsibility, but 2 other's say that it is exactly the problem, I would consult a Dr, to be on the safe side as it may be infection, or blood poisoning.
Reply:I have seven and none of mine did that and one is super deep you can see it with your eyes closed!! lol
Reply:Yes my tattoo on my wrist bled but he warned me that since the skin there is very sensitive that may happen. So yes it is possible.
Reply:i dont know about the how or why, but yes a bad tat can bleed and look bad. if you dont like the work, tell, em, show em, and at least get $$$ back if you dont wanna sue em.

it could possibly be blood poisioning too. if you see dark streaks coming out from that tat, get to emergency room NOW! i dont mean to be alarmist but in a forum like this best to cover all possibilities. blood poisoning can be extremely serious. you can lose a limb. dont take any chances if you see ANY signs of infection, like itching and streaks! IM DEAD SERIOUS!

if you think there is any chance of infection, MAN, you need to be seen by a doctor now! and time does matter! the sooner the better! i hope its just a bad tat, but best not take any chances....
Reply:Yes the tattoo color can bleed outside of the outline! You should ask another shop on how to care for it since the shop you had it done at will not take the responsablity!

Good Luck

Here is a link for great how to care guide, and yes A%26amp;D is one of the best products to use: http://www.wikihow.com/Care-for-a-New-Ta...
Reply:Yes, it could, but my greater concern would be infection. Not all places are sanitary, and this should be on your mind. If you have any doubt at all, see a doctor without delay, as some infections can be truly life-threatening.
Reply:yes a tattoo certainly can bleed...i had the same thing happen to me, my friends would think i'd bruise myself working...

in your case i'm not certain about ink bleeding into the surrounding skin, but it does remain deep in the area where the tatt is and i've had laser treatment done to remove this particular tattoo and it didn't remove it.
Reply:That`s the result of letting someone hurt you like this. You almost likely have a serious infection going on. There`s no way that the ink can bleed out to the surrounding tissue. Your tissues are infected, %26amp; you need medical attention immediately.
