Are Girls aloud the worst example of todays skin deep POP culture?

Do they trade purely on their looks? Are they a bunch of annoying pop princesses? They look great (apart from the red haired one, how the hell did she slip through?!) - good for eye candy but not for much else.

I think that's just the way the pop industry is these days. As long as you look anorexic and have had a boob job, it doesn't matter if you can sing or not.
Reply:Yes along with Pussycat Dolls
Reply:along with all pop music.long live metallica.
Reply:They are a perfect example of skin deep POP culture.

Guys want to sleep with them and girl want to be them.

As for the ginger one, even she doesn't look that bad anymore. It's AMAZING what you can do with a bit of foundation and a bottle of auburn hair dye.
Reply:i read somewhere that cheryl tweedy made her non celebrity wedding guests sign agreements not to ask her celebrity guests for autographs. get over yourself. they are sh*t although my 4 year old disagrees with that!!
Reply:They are utter rubbish! As are the Pussycat Dolls! People keep complaining that there aren't enough original singers and bands, but there won't be if Girls Aloud, Westlife, etc... keep getting to number one! Stop downloading / buying their songs! If you like the song so much, get the original - it's probably cheaper and vastly superior!
Reply:One would say ANY type of manufactured band is a bad example of pop culture.
Reply:Yeh your totally right. Though I do like the pussy cat dolls, not only because they are gorgeous...ok yes because they are gorgeous.
Reply:Yes, I agree. Girls aloud are simply a tool for a record company to make money out of. Once the fad has passed and they are no longer flavour of the month they will be forgotten.

However don't think this kind of thing is limited to POP music. There are Rock bands that are manufactured (Good charlotte?)as well as those that have sold out. Metallica for one used to make great music but sold out and now make corporate rock designed to appeal to the masses and make them lots of cash.

Oh and Girls aloud look great because they have stylists and you only ever see them made up or in air brushed photos. I bet if you ever saw them in real life they would be distinctly average
Reply:They are pretty bad but not the worst by a long way.

Can't you remember the 80's?
Reply:Girls aloud are so manufactured - I dont even think they know which single they will promote next......every thing with them is so choreographed...........borin...........
Reply:Yes, yes, yes and how refreshing that a man can see them for what they really are!
